Palisades Virtuosi creates an evening of music that celebrates the next generation of artists. Featured performers include PV's annual Young Artist Recognition award winner and young artists from Montclair State University.
Our signature newly commissioned work is written by our youngest ever composer, Michael Parsons, who at 16 has already received awards from BMI & ASCAP for this trio written expressly for PV!
PV will be joined by young artists from Montclair State University, Andrew Pecota, bassoon and Kyra Sims, French horn for a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Quintet for Piano & Winds".
Also on the evening's performance, the presentation of PV's 7th Annual Young Artist Recognition Award, given to and outstanding High School senior for excellence in music and leadership qualities. This year's winner will be from Westwood High School.
Other works on the program will include Bizet's "Jeux des enfantes" and two of PV's commissioned works, "Palisades Amusement" by Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Paul Moravec and "Be Aware of Wonder" by Aaron Grad, PV's FIRST commissioned composer. Please join us for our Pre-Concert talk with the artists and composer at 7:15 and stay for our post concert reception. (Be sure to fill out a raffle ticket for your choice of free tickets or a free CD - raffle winner will be pulled during the reception!)
