Bonfire at the Iron Furnaces
Exploring the roots of Halloween in Celtic Culture and celebrating other cultural autumn festivals as well as highlighting Northeastern PA's industrial past this, event takes place at the historic Iron Furnaces, a 4 acre truly unique site with the remains of a standing blast furnace. This year's event features a Jack O'Lantern Carving Competition,a Bag Piper parade and ceremonial lighting of the fire, Day of the Dead Ofrenda, MacBeth performances by the Scranton Shakespeare Company, and readings of Edgar Allan Poe as well as drum circle, music by the Coal Town Rounders and the Great Party. Food & beverage of course and a Sky Lantern Launch! Children 12 and under free!
