Speak Out, Louise
We Are Here Productions Presents: Speak Out, Louise! A Pub Quiz charity event in support of Black Lives Matter. Using a traditional pub quiz model we hope to highlight the unequal representation of Black people and other people of colour in the Musical Theatre community and cannon.
Sing out, Louise Comes to us from the Styne/Sondheim/Laurents classic musical Gypsy and has become a metaphor for raising your voice in song within the Musical Theatre community. Speak Out, Louise! Asks every person to STAND UP, SPEAK OUT and if you feel like it, SING, to end the historic and intrinsic racism within our community and across the globe.
The Pub Quiz will have two different times to accommodate people in different time zones, 2PM EST and 7PM EST. Both times will be filled with special guests artists from Broadway, Touring companies and regional theatres doing talk backs and performances.
A Zoom Link will be given out to all attendees 1 hour prior to the event.
