Roz Savage MBE holds four Guinness world records for ocean rowing, including first woman to row three oceans: the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian. A latecomer to the life of adventure, the Oxford law graduate worked as a management consultant in London for 11 years before deciding to take her life in a new direction.
A United Nations Climate Hero and an Athlete Ambassador for 350.org, Roz is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, an International Fellow of the Explorer's Club of New York, and in 2010 she was named Adventurer of the Year by National Geographic.
Her inspirational book, Rowing the Atlantic: Lessons Learned on the Open Ocean, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2009. The eponymous documentary has been screened around the world in association with the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Her second book, Stop Drifting, Start Rowing: One Woman's Search for Happiness and Meaning Alone on the Pacific, is published in October 2013 by Hay House.
A graduate of University College, Oxford and a recipient of a Yale World Fellowship, Roz was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's 2013 Birthday Honours.
