The Art of the Protest Song
In this moving and entertaining evening of music, we celebrate the power of the protest song: heartfelt, earth-shaking, and straight to the point. Hosted by Al Haas, the concert will feature classic protest songs of the 60s and beyond, along with some brand new tunes, because . . . it seems there's always something new (or the same old thing) to speak out against. Join Bill Valenti, Moss Henry, Steve Meckfessel, Michael Capella, Lisa Iskin, and special guest Christiane Lelaure. Alternately stirring, funny, and heartbreaking, these songs tell a story of survival, defiance and hope that will inspire and delight.
