Celebrity Comedian/Writer Elayne Boosler said: "I feel nothing lends itself to music better than the top notes of comedy, tempered by the depth of emotion we, and the animals, experience every day in the world of rescue. Rescuers speak for those who cannot. We are their voices. To be lucky enough to also have their voices be soulful instruments played by some of the world's best musicians, well, I hope 'Rescue  A True Story' opens the eyes and hearts of all who hear it."

Composer Carol Worthey said, "It is a deep honor and responsibility to put music to a story with this much heart and humor. Music is a powerful carrier-wave of emotion and mood, and "Rescue --- A True Story" has asked me to take you, the Listener, to a place where heart and humor meet, where life pulses with colorful characters and exciting twists... with the added irony that this is not a made-up story, but a true one. With each note I imagined, I felt as if I were looking deep into the eyes of my own rescue dogs, Sophie and Winston, who found their Forever Home by my side. And knowing that I had three world-class performers whose artistry and sensitivity would be attuned to every nuance in the score, I had to arrive at a place where just the right touches of virtuosity would add fire and delicacy, without sacrificing any of the power of sheer simplicity. I have no doubt you will leave the theater with a full heart --- And maybe, just maybe, you will find yourself humming a tune or two."
