Southampton Arts Center is excited to announce that they will kick off Memorial Day weekend with a first-rate drive-in movie experience at Coopers Beach in Southampton Village. Now that Governor Andrew Cuomo has endorsed drive-ins as an acceptable form of public entertainment, SAC acted swiftly to organize this special event celebrating the unofficial start of summer. At sundown on Sunday, May 24, approximately 8:30 PM, SAC will present the 1981 Steven Spielberg classic Raiders of the Lost Ark, made possible by the generosity of Simone and David Levinson. Please note that space is limited and advance reservations are required to ensure safe, contactless entry.
This event will also serve as a Food Drive benefiting Heart of the Hamptons. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to donate in support of the local food bank.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981 | PG | 115 min.) From Director Steven Spielberg, intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) tries to beat a band of Nazis to a unique religious relic which is central to their plans for world domination. Battling against a snake phobia and a vengeful ex-girlfriend, Indiana Jones is in constant peril, making hair's-breadth escapes at every turn in this celebration of the innocent adventure movies of an earlier era.
The Coopers Beach parking lot (268 Meadow Lane) will open at 7 PM with the film beginning at sundown, approximately 8:30 PM. Admission is $50 per car. Attendees will be expected to stay in their cars and follow physical distancing guidelines. The audio will be accessed on the FM dial. Advance reservations required.
Contactless Entry: Attendees must post a printout of their confirmation and put it in their car window or have it on the screen of their mobile phone on arrival. Advance reservations are required for admittance.
