Eric Lechasseur: Chef for Celebrities, Author, Owner of Seed Kitchen
Eric started his interest to cooking when he was 6 years old with his grandmother. He completed Culinary Arts Education in Quebec, Canada and Ponpadour, France and Nagoya, Japan.
He was executive chef for French Resort Hotel for many years and traveled to Tahiti, Bali, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Bahamas.
Eric began his vegan macrobiotic journey in 1993 to help combat his wife Sanae's medical problems and he also has succeeded in using his vegan macrobiotic practices to cure his own crippling allergies. From that point, his interest in vegan macrobiotics grew, and Eric is now a sought-after chef specializing in vegan macrobiotics and healthy, delicious and eye-catching cuisine.
As a private chef he cooked for many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Ivan Reitman, Jason Reitman, Keenan Ivory Wayans and Sting and has still cooking for Madonna, Tobey Maguire, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
He is the author of love, eric, an internationally successful cookbook of gourmet vegan macrobiotic pastries. In collaboration with his wife Sanae Suzuki, he published his second cookbook, love, eric & sanae, featuring exquisite seasonal vegan macrobiotic cuisine. He has been featured in many prominent magazines such as Variety, Alternative Medicine, Venice, Los Angeles Times, as well as on radio and TV. He was a runner up for faux foie gras PETA contest.
In Autumn 2008, Eric opened organic vegan macrobiotic restaurant Seed Kitchen in Venice, California with his wife, Sanae Suzuki. They have created some of Eric's celebrity clients' favorites dishes at Seed Kitchen.
Sanae Suzuki: Whole Health Macrobiotic Educator and Counselor, Flower Essences Practitioner, Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist for people and pets, Co-owner of Seed Kitchen, Author
She is a long-time student of Michio Kushi, world leader of Macrobiotic education, and completed all Level IV training at the Kushi Institute in Becket, MA. She also holds a certificate of recognition from Kushi Institute International for macrobiotic teaching.
She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1993, which inspired her to learn about macrobiotics as a path to healing. Eight years later, she suffered a near fatal car accident in the Arizona desert. She was able to overcome both of these extreme life challenges through practicing and embracing the philosophy of macrobiotics.
Sanae has taught and cooked extensively vegan macrobiotics cuisine within California, including Williams Sonoma, California Sushi Academy, Southern California Culinary School, Erewhon Natural Foods Market, Co-op and Whole Foods Market. Nationally and internationally, her venues include the Health Classic, A Taste of Health Cruise, the International Macrobiotic Summer Conference, several locations in Japan including Kushi Institute of Japan, and the Caribbean, UK and Europe.
She has published her first cookbook, love, eric & sanae with her husband, Eric Lechasseur and the second one published as her own cookbook, love, sanae which features a full-year's worth over 120 healing vegan macrobiotics recipes.
It is her desire to help plant a seed of physical, intellectual, and spiritual happiness that will flourish within each person she meets.
