Think Science: Vaccines
Over 100 years after Louis Pasteur developed vaccines for diseases such as chicken pox, cholera and anthrax, modern science has been able to eliminate or greatly lessen many communicable diseases through the use of vaccines. But even today, some people are unclear on how vaccines work. At our next Think Science event, well learn about the vaccination process, how it works, and what goes in to the making of modern vaccines.
This event will not be a debate. We will be sharing information about established medical practices based on science.
Because of the need for current physical distancing, this event will be held live, online via GoToMeeting, rather than as a live, in-person event as have previous Think Science events.
The format will be the same; moderator Bonnie Petrie will introduce our panelists, wholl share their stories. Audience members will be able to ask questions via the Q&A function in the web application. The session will be recorded for later posting online.
After registering for the event, you will be emailed a link to join in at noon on Friday, May 22.
Moderator: Bonnie Petrie, TPR Bioscience & Medicine reporter Panelists: Dr. Joanne Turner, Texas Biomedical Research Institute TBA, UT Health
