38th Annual American Indian Film Festival
The American Indian Film Institute announces the 38th annual American Indian Film Festival, Nov. 1-10, 2013 in San Francisco. It kicks off at the Delancey Street Theatre, 600 Embarcadero, San Francisco from November 1 - 9 and will continue with its American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show (AIMPAS) on Sunday, November 10 at the San Francisco Jazz Center, 201 Franklin St. (at Fell) in San Francisco.
The first segment of AIFF 38 kicks off on Fri., Nov. 1, with an evening program at Delancey Street Theater, 600 Embarcadero at 7 p.m, followed by matinee and evening programs and screenings on Sat., Nov. 2 and Sun., Nov. 3. AIFF 38 continues with its second segment, from Tues., Nov. 5 through Sat., Nov. 9, with matinee and evening screenings. Notably, AIFI/AIFF will offer three special events, all held at Delancey Street Theater: a Film Distribution Panel on Thurs., Nov. 7 at Noon; and, on Fri., Nov. 8 at 10 a.m., AIFI's innovative Tribal Touring Program, spotlighting P.O.V. films from Indian youth in this summer's TTP. In addition, CBS' Fern Orenstein, Casting V.P., will conduct a Workshop: "Working One-on-One with Actors" on Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. Advance registration required; free.
AIFF 38 wraps on Sun., Nov. 10 with the American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show, 4-7 p.m. at the San Francisco Jazz Center, 201 Franklin St. at Fell St. The gala features American Indian and First Nation filmmakers, actors and entertainers, and film award presentations, with live musical and cultural performances.
