-------------------------------------------
Founded by composer/performer Anne H. Goldberg and soprano Corrine Byrne, Tempus Continuum is a New York-based ensemble that strives to bring diverse audiences to contemporary and underperformed music. Through provocative programming, Tempus Continuum seeks to create paths of accessibility for audience members, inviting them to confront music with fresh ears. Tempus Continuum works closely with emerging and established composers, commissioning and premiering innovative works at a diverse variety of venues such as New York City's the cell theatre, Cornelia Street Café, The Flea Theater, and Philadelphia's The Salon, and recently the long-established Arts in the Village concert series in Massachusetts. Tempus Continuum holds an annual call for scores to promote and perform innovative works by emerging composers, thus furthering and expanding the genre of new classical music.
The Mobius Percussion Quartet seeks to fuse their interest in fresh sounds with their commitment to high-quality performance and the promotion of new works by emerging composers. The group is composed of David Degge, Mika Godbole, Yumi Tamashiro and Frank Tyl, who formed the ensemble after working together at the first annual So Percussion Summer Institute in Princeton, NJ. Based in New York City, the ensemble made their debut at downtown multimedia art carbaret, (Le) Poisson Rouge, performing alongside other notable artists including So Percussion, Nexus, Meehan/Perkins Duo and Mantra Percussion. Recent projects include commissioning a multi-movement work from So Percussion's Jason Treuting that is currently being developed in a workshop setting for a release next year. This past summer Mobius recorded Australian composer Kate Neal's dramatic quartet What Hath II with noted videographer Troy Herion for release this fall season. Based on the text transmissions of Morse code, the work integrates visual and corporeal elements that enhance the underlying rhythmic drive. With several other versatile projects already in the works, Mobius seeks to springboard evocative ideas with a theatrical inclination to the forefront of their music making.
