Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963 Staged Reading
Mahogany Ensemble Theatre, in association with Project1Voice, joins 50 theatres--in simultaneous staged readings across the nation (including the Kennedy Center)honoring the lives of Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley and Addie Mae Collins, on the 50th anniversary of the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. This performance will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 4:00 PM at The Highland Center in Shreveport, LA.
This staged reading takes a look at what every child imagines they want to be when they grow up and dares to examine what it's like to be a child in the most extreme conditions. Director, Angelique Feaster Evans has assembled a dynamic multi-generational cast in collaboration with New Dimensions Youth Chorale under the direction of Mrs. Julie Lester.
This landmark event is being presented in partnership with Volunteers of America Lighthouse and Evans Entertainment Enterprise.
Admission: $10 (donation) adults/students, $5 (donation)youth (12 and under); group rates available
