Beat-the-Plague: Professional Development for Playwrights Workshop
Beat-the-Plague: Professional Development for Playwrights Workshop
I know that often the most difficult part of being an artist is not the art itself, but navigating the industry.
I usually teach an in-person Professional Devo class but since those have been cancelled, and I'm out of work, I thought we could help each other. I'm holding a number of PWYC (Pay What You Can) workshops online. Please consider throwing a few bucks in the bucket before or after, and if you can't afford to, that's cool. Please still come.
Each workshop is limited to 15 participants and lasts three hours. The schedule for the class is: -Discuss submitting work and networking: 45 minutes -15 minute break -General Q& A for Follow-up: 30 minutes -Discuss artistic statements and read examples: 15 minutes -Writing/Revising your artistic statement: 15 minutes (writing on your own) -Sharing and feedback on your statement: 1 hour -End of Day
You will leave the workshop with either a new or newly begun artistic statement that has received feedback plus a handout that offers tips on websites, where to submit, productions, goals, etc.
