To Kill a Mockingbird - by Harper Lee
Harper Lee's classic novel To Kill A Mockingbird is brought to the stage in this moving adaptation by Christopher Sergel. The play is seen through the eyes of 9 year old Scout who's faith in the goodness of her community is tested when her father Atticus Finch decides to defend a black man charged with raping a white girl. Harper Lee's beloved story is set in a small town in the deep south in 1935.
The Depot Theatre's production of To Kill a Mockingbird is made possible, in part, by the NYS Council on the Arts and with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NY State Legislature and with funds from Putnam County. These grant programs are managed and monitored by the Putnam Arts Council, Mahopac, NY.
