INTERSECTION OF THE SYMPHONY & CIVIL RIGHTS CONCERT POSTPONED

The Afro-American Chamber Music Society Orchestra (AACMSO) presents an evening of music composed by New York composer, Dr. Joyce Solomon Moorman with a World Premiere of SUMMER PIANO CONCERTO featuring Pianist, Janise White. Woven throughout the work with Civil Rights Songs it poignantly depicts the events which impacted the composer's life both during the struggle and post Civil Rights Movement according to the three movements entitled: 1)Summer 2)1957 and 3)2015. Lettrice Lawrence, Dramatic Soprano joins the AACMSO in singing "Dream Variations" by Langston Hughes set to music by Dr. Solomon Moorman. Voices Raised LA Choir performs rousing choruses which galvanized people to actively participate in the movement. Other works include: Race Riots for ensemble featuring Fernando Pullum, trumpeter; and Three Spirituals by Dr. Frederick Tillis sung by bass,Ralph Pettiford, of the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers.
