2020 Brave New Play Rites Festival
Now in its 34th year, the University of British Columbia's Creative Writing Program presents the Brave New Play Rites Festival, premiering twenty plays at the NEST on Granville Island.
The festival will feature 10 Full Productions, 8 Staged Readings, and new this year, 2 Grad Readings. All plays are written by UBC Creative Writing students, with talent from across Vancouver performing and presenting these unique, new works.

TICKET PRICES Full Productions (Blue and Red Programs) $20, available online until 1 hour before the start of the show. Tickets also available at the door, cash only.
Staged and Grad Readings (Green, Yellow, Orange and Purple Programs) tickets are available at the door only. $5 cash.

STAGED READINGS Each program features staged readings of 4 new short plays (each no more than fifteen minutes in length). The actors have rehearsed the pieces but will have scripts in hand. Come hear these plays aloud for the first time.
