Although her life was cut tragically short in 1995, Selena has become a symbol of hope that transcends generations. Poised for crossover superstardom before her untimely death, Selena was the first female Tejano performer to win a Grammy for best Mexican-American album, singing in both English and Spanish. In the years since her death, her legend has continued to grow. She has become a fashion icon, a musical legend, and a symbol of hope within the Chicano community and beyond.
