Langtoun Jazz Festival 2020 Concert 6 Evelyn Laurie Quartet My Scottish Heart
Evelyn Laurie presents a programme of Scottish traditional tunes as youve never heard them before accompanied by Dan Brown, Mark Hendry and Greg Irons.
Evelyn hails from Paisley in the West of Scotland and is based back there again, having returned to her roots after living away for many years.
The first time she walked on a stage she was 4 years old - at a talent show in Arbroath. She was bold enough to grab the mic from the MC's hand so that she could sing her song - When Irish Eyes are Smiling Sadly she didn't win but she's been singing ever since!
Her repertoire has changed a bit since then though and her musical tastes are eclectic: from Led Zeppelin to Ella Fitzgerald, John Martyn to Frank Sinatra and Joni Mitchell to Nick Cave plus opera, classical and even a bit of country!
Evelyn released her debut album A little bit of me in 2018 and it has been very well received and had great reviews
Evelyn makes a welcome return to The Langtoun, having done a fundraiser there in 2019
