Martha Groves Perry is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Sunnyvale now based in San Francisco. Her original music has a straightforward, compelling and sometimes edgy clarity with strong blues, southern rock, and experimental influences. Her penetrating lyrics, described by her producer Kenny Schick as journaling in poetry, reflect the fearless truth-telling and unbothered amusement of a seasoned, female point of view. Some characterize Marthas music as a cross between Tom Waits, early Gwen Stefani, and the Indigo Girls.
The MidLife Crises has been making music in the South Bay since 2009. The band focuses on polish and energy over volume while melding a variety of influences and genres. Their wide-ranging repertoire includes Rock, Alternative, Metal, Blues, Surf, Jazz and others, both originals and covers. Core members are Z Zorzella on guitar and vocals, Niall Doherty on drums, JJ Enser on bass, Vince Gabrielsen on guitar, and Jen Johnson on vocals and extras. Their annual family-friendly concert in September at the Baylands Park in Sunnyvale has become a beloved community event.
Kenny Schick is a post-modern Americana singer-songwriter and all-in producer. He delivers songs of longing, loss, hope, love, and politics with intense, deliberate lyrics and masterful guitar playing. Kennys generous passion shines through his live show, eliciting both tears and laughter with a comedic sense that lightens his more thought-provoking offerings. Its Americana with colors of rock, punk, and jazz -- influences from his multi-genre past.
