Acupuncture: East meets West
Science has recently discovered a new organ called the interstitium. In this class you will learn that what scientists are now calling an organ is actually a system. The intersitium is what bodywork therapists have known as fascia or connective tissue for years and it is where the acupuncture meridians are held. Within this tissue, pain sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels are also located. Emotional memory is held in this tissue as well. The key to our physical and emotional health is found in our fascia. Join us for this class which will explain how connective tissue, the myofascial web, photons, and the acupuncture meridians all converge as this "newly discovered organ" to create vibrant health. Maria Mandarino, LAc, DipAc (NCCAOM), LMT, CSD, MSEd is a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist, certified spiritual director, and educator who has worked in holistic and traditional medicine for over 20 years.
