AKPE Motion
AKPE MOTION is a French quartet created by drummer Pascal BOUTERIN, with Alain BRUNET (Trumpet, bugle & voice), Jean GROS (Guitar) and Luis MANRESA (Bass). Working on the colour of the music is both a need and a pleasure for the group. Each musician brings his own sonic palette, feeds the other, to weave an ever-evolving musical web, destroy it if needed, to reach the final aim: a musical rainbow, ephemeral by essence ! AKPE MOTION is proud to play world-music in the true sense of the term: in this case, jazz influenced by various continents. ""Migrations"" (Great Winds, 2016) is the result of previous tours in South Pacific, Indian Ocean, Mexico and the United States. The album has been forged by the discovery of other musicians, other cultures, other horizons. More than ever, music is the privileged instrument for the comprehension between human beings, for dialogue and for mutual enrichment. The migrants drama in the Mediterranean Sea is the perfect opposite of what we have the chance to live. It questions our occidental way of life, our sense of fraternity. AKPE MOTION doesn't pretend to have the solution to all this, but its message of hope is a refreshing breath of air. To be discovered !
