The Cemetery Club
PLEASE NOTE: Due to ongoing Coivid-19 concerns, we will be postponing this production until April.
"The Cemetery Club" by Ivan Menchell Three Jewish widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands' graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife's grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida. They are guilt-stricken when this nearly breaks Ida's heart. Performance dates are April 3, 4, 17, 18 at 7:30pm and April 19 at 2pm. All performances will be held at the Fellowship Hall of Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street in Southbridge. Parking is available on Elm Street, or in the parking deck behind Southbridge Town Hall. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and youths under 18. Tickets may be reserved by calling Gateway at 508-764-4531. Online credit card ticket sales are available at www.brownpapertickets.com. This production will be directed by Lou-Ellen Corkum, and produced by Kathie Grenier. Presented by permission through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
