Matthiasson Wine Dinner
For Steve & Jill Matthiasson, winemaking is a natural extension of farming. They have both worked for many years in the sustainable agriculture and local food movement, and in 2003 they started Matthiasson wines based on those values. Steve became an obsessed gardener and cook while studying philosophy in college, eventually branching out into vineyard management in the early 2000s. Jill has always felt that the intersection of nature and culture was of the highest import. She studied botany at Penn, and eventually began pioneering farmer to farmer networking for sustainability in the early 90s while working for a non-profit.
Together, Steve & Jill make up one of the most dynamic duos of modern Napa winemaking. Their focus on exemplary vineyard management has helped to influence the way many Californian wineries approach grape growing, and has gone on to reinforce and support the philosophy that great winemaking begins in the vineyard. After tasting their wines, its hard to believe otherwise. Please join us on Monday, April 6, for a night of food, friends, and good wine.
