Brooklyn Art Song Society (BASS) is proud to announce the next installment of its innovative new music series In Context. This years featured composer is Lowell Liebermann, one of the most performed and recorded living composers. Mr. Liebermann is known for his lush neo-romantic style. This concert features two of the composer's best-known cycles, 6 Songs on Poems by Henry Longfellow Op. 57 and 6 Songs on Poems by Raymond Carver Op. 80, as well a world-premiere performance of a new cycle Sentimental Songs Op. 89. Also featured are lesser-known songs by Robert Franz and Franz Liszt picked by the composer himself to complement his own works. Metropolitan Opera baritone John Michael Moore makes his BASS debut and is joined by returning favorites soprano Laura Strickling and tenor Nils Neubert. They are joined at the piano by Michael Brofman (artistic director) and Miori Sugiyama. Be sure not to miss this exciting event.
