American Heritage Productions presents the 3rd Annual Brokedown Blues Fest at the Harbor View Event Center in Washburn, Wisconsin. The Brokedown Palace, a live music venue in Washburn, WI in the 1990s, gives its name to our Blues Fest.
Opening the night is Charlie Parr playing country folk blues on his trademark resonator guitar. Charlie began his professional career in Duluth and has become a favorite in music festivals across the country.
The Butanes were founded in 1987 in Minneapolis. They are led by Curtis Obeda who was voted into the Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame for his songwriting. The Butanes have travelled internationally with their blues, classic R&B and soul music. They set the standard for blues bands in the Twin Cities including playing regularly at the Cabooze. They have been the backup band for Bo Didley and other singers at music festivals. AND they performed at the Brokedown Palace here in Washburn.
Closing this night of great music is Otis and the Alligators. Otis McLennon formed this well-known group in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and they travelled extensively in the Midwest for over 25 years. Otis is the lead singer and plays harmonica. Otis and the Alligators were the favorite band at the Brokedown Palace and so this great night of music brings it all home
