We Say Tomato
Please join us for a lively evening and a tasting of recipes from Miriam Rubin's new book "Tomatoes." We'll start with cocktails, including Bloody Mary's from Tomatoes and a bourbon libation as we sample Stand-Over-The-Sink Tomato Sandwiches. They'll be a short Tomato-themed talk and with a little tomato history, and then a Q&A session. A buffet dinner will follow, including: Tomato and Watermelon Salad with Feta and Oregano Cornmeal-Crumbed Fried Green Tomatoes with Buttermilk-Black Pepper Dressing Edna Lewis' Baked Tomatoes with Crusty Bread Garlic-Cheese Grits with Tomato-Crunch Topping Simmered Tomatoes and Okra with Bacon Spiced Green Tomato Crumb Cake
We're looking for members to prepare dishes, do sign-in, write up the program for the newsletter, take photos and just help out. Members will receive one credit for volunteering.
