A Tour of the Solar Decathlon Entry ~ Casa del Sol

A collaboration between local Orange County universities, Casa del Sol is a zero net energy Accessory Dwelling Unit located at Southwinds Nursery. Attendees will have a tour of this residence by one of the building designers, as well as team members involved in Casa del Sols energy efficiency.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will learn about energy efficiency in the zero net energy 2015 Solar Decathlon home Casa del Sol, and how this can be applied to their projects.

Attendees will experience and learn about the health benefits of living in a passive solar home.

Attendees will learn how following the Living Building Challenges materials red list improves interior health and air quality

Attendees will learn how grey water recycling and rainwater catchment improves the quality of life in Californias continued drought.
