Will Brown

Will Brown will present a concert of his arrangements of songs and tunes from the Folk, Appalachian, Maritime, Celtic and Transatlantic genres. Hes been a guest performer and has led workshops for The Folklore Society of Greater Washington several times between 2012 and 2020 and plays a fine finger style guitar, bouzouki and laud. Will grew up locally, on a dairy farm in Millerton, and though having lived in Maine for almost 50 years, often returns here because it's still home." He has played with and recorded with many well known Maine musicians during the past 40 years, including Gordon Bok, Cindy Kallet, Grey Larsen, Anne and David Dodson, George Fowler and Sara Gray. He also arranged his favorite U. Utah Phillips song Going Away which is included in the 2009 Grammy nominated compilation Singing Through The Hard Times.

"Wills skilled and tasteful playing has graced Maines mid-coast's folk music scene for many years. In addition to being a gifted solo performer in his own right, Will is also a chameleon-like accompanist who has collaborated with a virtual who's-who of musicians who recognize and appreciate his knack for adding just the right touch.
