Andrea Wolper Quartet
New York Jazz Vocalist Andrea Wolper Returns to Millheim's Elk Creek Cafe + Aleworks
In concert with Ken Filiano, Phil Haynes, Steve Rudolph
Saturday, October 11, 2008 8 - 10 pm
New York-based jazz vocalist, touring and recording artist Andrea Wolper has become a fan favorite in Central Pennsylvania based on just two standing-room-only performances at the former Equinox Cafe, re-opened recently as the Elk Creek Cafe + Aleworks, 100 West Main St., Millheim, PA. Appearing with Andrea will be Harrisburgs Steve Rudolph on keys (making his first appearance at Elk Creek), Lewisburg's Phil Haynes on drums, and Andreas longtime musical partner (and husband!), world-renowned bassist Ken Filiano.
Andreas rare return to Penns Valley on Saturday, October 11th is not to be missed. Since last appearing in Millheim in 2005, Andreas second CD, The Small Hours, was released. The recording, and the critical response to it, has brought national and international attention, and Andrea has been steadily performing in New York, as well as touring in the U.S. and abroad, from Cape Town to California, Lisbon to Leipzig.
New York appearances include Dizzy's Club (Jazz at Lincoln Center), the JVC Jazz Festival, Iridium, Sweet Rhythm, Makor, and more. National and international credits include Donne in Musica Festival (Italy), Hot Clube (Portugal), Jazz on the Plazz (CA), Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz (CT), Fairfax (CA) Jazz Festival and numerous other club and concert appearances.
Tickets for the October 11 concert are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
