Celtic Community Night featuring Portland Youth Sessions
Connecting Celtic Appreciators in Portland PORTLAND CELTIC COMMUNITY NIGHT Second Wednesday every month.
The goal is simple: Create a stronger, vibrant, and more unified community of Celtic musicians, dancers, and artists, and appreciators within the Portland, Oregon region. By hosting evenings that include performances by local and regional bands and artists, followed by an open traditional music and dance session, we can help foster a fun and inclusive environment where everyone can appreciate and participate in Celtic culture.
April's event will feature Irish traditional music performed by up-and-coming young Portland musicians on fiddle, accordion, and harp. The group gathers regularly for sessions at the Northwest Portland Hostel and is supported by the Mícheál Ó Domhnaill Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, a worldwide organization involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. Following their performance will be an open traditional music session. All instruments, voices, dancing feet of all ages are welcomed!
Admission is on a sliding scale of $7-15 at the door or in advance on brown paper tickets. Artichoke Cafe offers cold and warm drinks to enjoy during the show and session.
