Sally-Anne Hayward - INFLEXIBLE
A show about yoga and empathy. Or lack of it.
I know many of us roll our eyes when people send social media 'hugs', but there probably aren't quite so many who push fingers onto drawing pins in pockets so they can conjure up the required face-work during tearful farewells.
This is me. And I'm getting worse. I recently sat through a friend's tale of a painful break-up and the best suggestion I could offer was 'make that half as long, ditch the boring bit about his feet...beef up the ending, maybe throw in an abortion'.
It's clearly time for self-improvement, and in INFLEXIBLE I chart the drip-drip-drip depletion of my empathy, and my subsequent attempts to reconnect with a better me through the wonders of Yoga...the 20 year old Sally, the one who had all the time in the world for joy-sapping wallowers.
