Adult Raptor Camp Participants will be introduced to 4 different families of raptors (hawks, falcons, owls and eagles) through hands-on encounters.
The program will include raptor identification, natural history, mortality, populations, intelligence, instincts, habitat, rehabilitation, falconry, raptor equipment, handling, and the "experience of a lifetime".
By the end of the day, participants will have held a hawk, falcon, owl and Bald Eagle on their fist!
For this activity, participants must at least 18 years of age and be able to use both arms and both hands without physical limitations.
Participants should weather appropriate clothing. Time will be spent indoors but outdoors when handling the eagle.
No cameras or video camera. A photographer will be taking pictures and the pictures will be made available to you online and free of charge.
Materials, refreshments, and lunch will be provided by the IRC.
