TPaRbor Clean-Up Day
The Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project has restored an eight-mile stretch of the San Antonio River into a quality natural riparian woodland ecosystem. In 2014, the San Antonio River Authority gave Texas Public Radio the opportunity to adopt a 3.4-acre stretch of natural area on the southeast corner of the Theo Avenue bridge, which we call the TPaRbor.
TPR is calling for volunteers on Saturday, March 21st, from 9:00 to Noon to clean-up of the area.
Volunteers will be involved with the following tasks:
1. Mulching planted trees 2. Vegetation thinning 3. Native planting 4. Litter pickup
The work day will result in expanded and improved habitat conditions and connections to the San Antonio River ecosystem.
Because of space limitations, we must limit this volunteer workday - no groups or troops, please. Youth volunteers ages 16-18 may sign up with their parent or guardian also volunteering.
Free parking will be available at Concepcion Park where registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
