A Celebration of Oscar-Winning Songs
This concert, an encore of the standing-room only show held on February 4th, will showcase many of the very best songs that won the coveted Oscar including "Moon River," "Over the Rainbow," "I Just Called to Say I Love You," "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head," "High Hopes," "Lullaby of Broadway," "All the Way," "The Last Time I Saw Paris," and many more.
The evening will be directed and hosted by Michael Estwanik, the founder of the non-profit American Songbook Today. He will be sharing fascinating background stories on each song. These gems will be performed by Broadway star Meredith Patterson (Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street and Judy Haynes in Irving Berlin's White Christmas), Dustin Brayley - Star of Broadway's national tours of Saturday Night Fever, Rent, and Miss Saigon and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Music Director is Gregory Nabours, a much-celebrated composer/lyricist and performer who has performed at the Kennedy Center in ASCAP's Broadway: Today and Tomorrow Series. Michael Estwanik is an investor in several Broadway/off-Broadway musicals, and former Board President of MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets). There will also be a few sing-alongs.
These two encore concerts will be held at the historic Ojai Women's Club, 441 East Ojai Ave, at 7:00 PM on Fri, March 20, and at 2PM on Sat March 21. It will last approximately one hour and 45 minutes plus a fifteen intermission.
