The Gin Game - A Staged Reading
This Pulitzer Prize Award winning play uses the card game as a metaphor for life. As an aging couple in a seedy nursing home play the game, the intimacies of their pasts spill forth like the cards from the deck as they reach out to make some sense of their damaged lives. By Donald L. Coburn. Featuring M.Lynda Robinson and Richard McElvain.
Richard McElvain, co-founder of BOSTON READS, has been working in the Boston area as an actor, director, writer, translator and teacher for more years than he cares to count. He is a recipient of both the Elliot Norton Award and the IRNE for his acting. His directorial and acting credits are too numerous to mention.
M. Lynda Robinson, co-founder of BOSTON READS, has been working on Boston theatre stages for the last 35 years. There is virtually no stage in Boston she has not tread upon multiple times. She was awarded one of the first Elliot Norton and IRNE Awards for her stage work. She was on the founding committee for StageSource and has founded three theatres - The Court Theatre, The West End Theatre and The Blackburn Performing Arts Theatre. She is an accomplished, published and produced playwright with credits too numerous to mention.
