Toronto 2008 Decompression - Afterglow
Afterglow (af-ter-glow)(noun): 1. The atmospheric glow that remains for a short time after sunset. 2. The light emitted after removal of a source of energy. 3. The comfortable feeling following a pleasant experience. 4. A lingering impression of past glory or success.
Join BurnT --- Toronto's Burning Man group --- this fall for our annual T-compression celebration on November 15, 2008! This will be way more than a pARTy as you bask in the AFTERGLOW of the playa.
If you live for art, play, music and community-building in a sharing environment, then you won't want to miss this event! This will be an evening of interactive and visual art, diverse music, renowned DJs, an open mic, FIRE play, ice-breaking, Playa storytelling, intimate separate chill space, free hugz and more!
Start thinking about what you can do to make this collaborative project even better than in past years. Let your mind be free and as creative as possible. Costumes, art pieces, potluckables, gifts, dance, fireplay, performance, comedy, skits, poetry, and any other fun, insightful, creative things to share will be welcome!
Get Involved: While pARTicipation is optional, it is also strongly encouraged, and will only serve to enhance your experience. This is not a spectator event. Do more always.
To find out more about volunteering send an email message indicating your interest to pARTicipate to aubreyathome@yahoo.com. Then create an account on our planning WIKI http://wiki.drawoutsidethelines.net/
Prices will be scaled based on purchase date with two tiers of fundraiser tickets available for those who wish to donate additional funds for art grants/scholarships.
As with last year's event, Playawear and donating** a non-perishable food item is strongly encouraged. Boring everyday street clothes will be subject to a spanking and additional entrance fee.
All donations** will be delivered to the Daily Bread Food Bank on behalf of BurnT.
** If you do not plan to donate food, please donate a loonie or twoonie via our charity collection box which will be at the event admission desk at the front door of the Pia Bouman Art Centre.
Disclaimer: This is an adult-oriented gathering. Proof of age of majority (19 years or older) will be required for entrance. No ID means no entry. Please remember yours.
Attend at your own risk. Be safe, but not too safe. You WILL have fun!
