Carol McCann: Pieces of Me
Carol McCann is kicking off her 2020 residency at Pangea with a new project, Pieces of Me; an evening built squarely around her original songs. A little bit rock, with a dash of blues, country, jazz and Broadway, her music is a unique blend of the sounds that have influenced her throughout her life. Once again, Carol with be joined by Music Director John DiPinto on piano, along with Gregory Landes on drums, Marc Schmied on bass, and Mary Foster Conklin on supporting vocals. In the mix will be the random standard, and audience favorites, along with more recent compositions, occasionally punctuated by some saucy musically rendered satirical observations.
Carol McCann has been seen and heard in the New York clubs for three decades. A writer member of ASCAP since 1991, her music has been featured in the BBC series BORDER CAFÉ and performed by fellow singers Mary Foster Conklin, Lisa Asher, Annie Hughes, and Lena Koutrakis. She performs with long-time Music Director and collaborator, John DiPinto.
"A songwriter of impressive variety and depth . . . her work is filled with inventiveness, little surprises, and impressive quirks." Roy Sander, Backstage
"A respected interpreter of the heart, and a great interpreter of her own material . . .. . .Carol McCann delivers one heck of a package!" John Hoglund, Cabaret Spotlight
"Carol McCann has fans aplenty and rightfully so." Stu Hamstra, Cabaret Hotline
