Louise Bichan's "Out Of My Own Light"
Out of My Own Light, a suite of beautifully wrought, brilliantly captivating chamber-folk compositions, inspired by Bichans travels and wider family recollections.
Also featuring Katie McNally on fiddle and Ethan Setiawan on octave mandolin.
"Out of My Own Light" focuses on the story of Margaret Sarah Tait, Grandmother and her adventures traveling from Orkney to Canada as a young woman, taking six months to visit relatives and make a difficult life decision. Following in her grandmother's footsteps, some 60 years later, Louise Bichan returned to Scotland inspired and armed with stories. Bichan composed and recorded music with a stellar cast of musicians, which were released alongside a book of photographs and collection of videos.
