Hidden Cathedral Poetry Festival
For poetry lovers and for those new to poetry, the Cathedral of All Saints welcomes you to an afternoon of verse in an awe-inspiring space. Explore diverse ways in which poetry is written, understood and discussed and come away with a greater knowledge and appreciation of how it interacts with Christianity and faith. Enjoy afternoon tea with live music by Jesse Frayne.
Dr. Leonard A. Slade, Jr. poet, SUNY Albany professor and long-time member of The Cathedral of All Saints, will open the festival at 2:30 PM with a selection of his recent poems. Acclaimed poet and writer Marly Youmans is the keynote speaker. Diane Cameron, Evan Craig Reardon, Luke Stromberg and others will offer readings and workshops on a wide range of subjects such as writing poetry for the first time, Yoruba form, and Hebrew parallelism. Registration and sign-up for workshops starts at 2:00 PM.
Tickets are $20 and $25 at the door.
