Measure for Measure: a dark comedy
The Duke appoints a deputy, Angelo, to enforce the law. Angelos first act is to sentence a man to death. The sentenced mans sister, Isabella, postpones her religious vows to ask for mercy. Angelo asks Isabella to consider what is most important: Justice, or Mercy?
This story also features part-time-pimps, foolish officers, a brash Bohemian and a singer.
Founded in 1999, Children Shakespeare Theatre has shepherded hundreds of kids through nearly a hundred Shakespeare productions.
Measure for Measure is playing March 5th and 6th at 7:30.
On March 13th and 14th, there will be a double feature: Blessed Sacraments student group, visiting from DC, will perform a thirty- minute version of Titus Andronicus, followed by an 8pm curtain of Measure for Measure.
Directed by Brady Amoonclark, this dark comedy is performed by the Rogues, our teenage troupe. This show has sensitive content and is recommended for teenage and adult audiences.
