Shawn Taylor & Chris DAmato - Wandering Roots
Wandering Roots, Shawn Taylor & Chris DAmato, bring Taylors genre blending wandering roots songs to life at Christ Episcopal Church in Bethany, CT, on Saturday March 14, 2020; along with stories from the road, from the trail and from a couple of lives of wandering roots. Shawn Taylor has released four CDs of original wandering roots music since 2008, performing relentlessly from New England to Nashville and beyond, and opening for legends like Maria Muldaur, Vance Gilbert and Peter Mulvey along the way. Hes been awarded for his songs, performances and short stories, which all reflect a lifetime of wandering roots. Hes thru-hiked (end to end) the Appalachian Trail, The Long Trail and The John Muir Trail, been an oysterman, a cabinet maker, a father, and has been a full-time independent musician for the past 12 years. He and his wife Amy have brought their two young children (now 9 & 11) on tour for the past three summers, for over 13,000 musical miles, and theyve got quite a few stories to tell. Shawn Taylor is one of the finest traveling troubadours performing on the circuit these days. Boasting world-class guitar chops, soul enriched vocals and an uncanny knack for capturing life in a song, wrote Brian Owens, of Metronome Magazine Boston. His guitar playing will surely captivate fans of true roots music. Chris is a two-time Connecticut Blues Society solo/ duo finalist and a finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. Hes performed/shared bills with many great musicians including: Albert Collins, Pinetop Perkins, Jaimoe, Eddie Kirkland, Scott Murawski, Mark Mercier, Buddy Guy, Roomful of Blues, Ronnie Earl, Derek Trucks, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, John Mayall, Gov't Mule, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and the Marshall Tucker Band.
