When Truth is Not Enough
In person: Playwright SUSAN CHARLOTTE, the three person cast and the presidents of the three Leagues who will lead a discussion of the play followed by a reception in the Sky Room. Award-winning playwright Susan Charlotte's compelling new play creatively explores the issue of voter suppression. The play takes place in Philadelphia in the fall of 2012 and deals with the many facets of the truth. Three people from completely different backgrounds struggle with a question that is so prevalent today: when is truth not enough? They live in a world where they feel paralyzed by the limitations that life presents and must decide if they want to simply give up, or face these challenges and move forward. The challenges to be faced are the ever present contradictions the truth versus lies, peace versus violence, and fragility versus aggression Author: Susan Charlotte / Director: Antony Marsellis Co-sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Huntington, League of Women Voters of East Nassau, and League of Women Voters of Smithtown
