Grow Your Own Strawberries! May 14, 2020
Theres nothing better than a bowl of just-picked, sweet, juicy strawberries harvested from your garden in your jammies. Growing strawberries is something you can do without a lot of time or effort.
Join Master Gardeners for an introductory workshop on growing strawberries. Thursday, May 20 from 6 to 8pm.
This class will provide an overview of the different types of strawberries followed by planting and care techniques for each. Storage and preservation will also be covered The indoor session will be followed by a short excursion to our strawberry patch for some hands-on experience.
Getting to the strawberry patch requires a 5-minute walk slightly uphill. Those with mobility issues may drive. Dress for the weather and bring water.
The class will be held in the head house at the 78th St. Heritage Farm; 1919 NE 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98665. You will be greeted at the entrance of the main building and shown to the head house.
