Desire Lines
DESIRE LINES, Patrick Connolly's first independent feature, explores the purpose of meditation and the parameters of the conscious mind.
It centers on Honey Zeal (Camille Calvin), a conflicted adult-film actress, who is directed to a mediation group and mixes with an offbeat clientele while being drawn to the troubled guru Joel Caldwell (co-writer Nigel Lysaght).
Part ensemble, part deep-character study, all cinema verite - DESIRE LINES is openly informed by adult-themed, darkly humorous narratives like Carnal Knowledge and My Dinner With Andre- making the most of a sparse budget, limited locations, and a moody, synth-based soundtrack by local Los Angeles band Drinking Flowers.
