Blackfoot Gypsies /John Till Benefit Show for the Ben Eyestone Fund
The Law Office Pub and Music Hall along with Goose Island Beer Company and The Blackfoot Gypsies join forces to raise funds for the Nashville Based Ben Eyestone Fund.
BEN EYESTONE FUND
The fund was created in memory of East Nashville musician Ben Eyestone, the drummer for alternative acts Margo Price, Nikki Lane and The Lonely Hs. Ben died on July 12, 2017; days after a delayed biopsy delivered a diagnosis of advanced colon cancer. Referred to as an untimely death, it was a tragic and preventable passing of a rising star due to a healthcare system that failed him. He had what I believe to be the greatest pre-existing condition in Nashville, says Music Health Alliance Founder and CEO Tatum Hauck Allsep. He was a poor, uninsured musician. Ben tried to utilize the resources available to him at free clinics and two public hospitals but the healthcare system failed Ben at every single turn.
GOOSE ISLAND LOST PALATE
This release is dedicated to Jonny, a long time Goose Island employee. Jonny, and Brewer Quinn, came up with this recipe after Jonnys recent victorious battle with cancer. Jonny lost the ability to taste many flavors, an unfortunate consequence of battling cancer. He almost completely lost his palate and mangos and cinnamon were two of the few things he was still able to taste. Were happy to say that Jonny is now a cancer survivor! This beer pays tribute to the flavors that were never lost.
BLACKFOOT GYPSIES
Nashvilles Blackfoot Gypsies are a rock n roll bandstraight up, no modifiers necessary. With four years, four releases, and countless miles under their belt as a two-piece guitar & drums powerhouse, Zack Murphy and Matthew Paige have recently added fellow brethren Dylan Whitlow (bass) and Ollie Dogg (harmonica), bolstering their passionate, careening, undeniably American sound. Seeing the band live is like watching someone cling to a firehose at full blast or dig their heels in atop a thrashing mechanical bull holding on for dear life, slowly guiding and reacting to forces at the brink of their control, somehow coming up aces in the end.
