When a Tree Falls
A Story of Broken Roots and Endangered Species
Written and Directed by Amontaine Aurore
Rocky Styles would like to be put on the Endangered Species List. After all, they did it for the Spotted Owl, which is all anybody ever talks about anymore in her Washington logging town. She doesn't know how much longer she can survive in this dying place, and in a family she's struggling to carry on her 17-year-old shoulders. But when a stranger arrives, Rocky wonders if she'll at last be rescued from imminent extinction. In this clear-eyed drama about unforgiving consequences, playwright Amontaine Aurore invites us to look carefully at even our forced choices.
