Greg Sover Trio at The Living Room at 35 East
Greg Sover, the blues/rock vocalist, guitarist and songwriter from Philadelphia, continues to impress along with his top-notch band of area musical veterans. This return visit to The Living Room will once again feature a stripped-down set with his bandmate/producer, renowned area bassist Garry Lee and drummer Tom Walling. They will perform selections from Sover's recordings "Jubilee" (2018) and "Songs of a Renegade" (2016).
The Greg Sover Band has been making great strides since emerging on the music scene. In 2018 and 2019 the band was a semifinalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, representing the Steel City Blues Society.
Sover has received airplay and great reviews locally, nationally and internationally. "Jubilee" peaked at #2 on The Roots Music Report's Top 50 Blues Rock Album Chart for the Week of February 3, 2018. The Roots Music Report's Top 50 Blues Rock Song Chart for the same week featured "Emotional" all the way up at #1 plus "As the Years Go Passing By" at #23 and "Jubilee" at #38.
The Greg Sover Band has performed at acclaimed venues including Ardmore Music Hall, Sellersville Theater, The Queen and World Cafe Live. Theyve performed at festivals including Paoli Blues Festival (2017), Philadelphia Folk Festival (2017), Phoenixville Blues Festival (2017 and 2018) and XPoNential Music Festival (2018). The band has supported renowned artists including Indigenous, Marcus King Band, Davy Knowles, Sonny Landreth, Popa Chubby, Ana Popovic, Rusted Root and Tommy Conwell & the Young Rumblers.
The band will be releasing "Parade" in 2020.
