Home Cookin' at the Playhouse
Arcata Playhouse hosts a benefit dance party with Home Cookin'.
The Arcata Playhouse is known as a community arts venue that presents touring acts in the Folk, Roots/Americana and Jazz genres, hosts theatre by all ages for all types, and as a hub for large puppets and outdoor spectacle, but in February they will be clearing the theatre floor for a dance party with local Humboldt dance band Home Cookin on Saturday, February 8th. The Home Cookin' dance party is a benefit for the many Playhouse programs that this community arts organization provides from their Artists in the School program, to their teen program Apprentice Entertainment, to their workshops for all ages and music presenting programs. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to shake your groove thing with Home Cookin' on February 8th. The band promises to deliver a range of musical flavors with a repertoire of original tunes and rock standards. Composed of legendary local musical veterans, Joyce Hough, Gary Davidson and Fred Neighbor with special guest Mike Labolle, Home Cookin' serves up savory musical entrees with a saucy backbeat.
Cocktails and light food fare available. Doors open at 7:30 with music at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 general & $13 members and are available online at arcataplayhouse.org, brownpapertickets.com at Wildberries Marketplace or reserve by calling 822-1575.
