Workshop: Textile Techniques in Wire with Kristin Tollefson
Build your vocabulary of textile techniques in this primer of sculptural wireworking. Coiling, twisting, linking, soumak, basket weaving and more will be introduced, and students will come away with samples and resources to use in their own work. All experience levels welcome, all materials provided
Workshop runs from 1pm-4pm.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Kristin Tollefson is an artist and educator engaged in the relationship between humans and environment. Her technical experience as a metalsmith and textile artist shapes both her choice of materials and her keen attention to detail and craft. Fractal theory, scientific illustration, micrograph photography and constellations inform her aesthetic. Kristin is Education Director at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
