Writing Personas
LitSpace Literary Arts Institute at Morean Arts Center
Saint Petersburg, FL
Share this event:

The word persona comes from the Latin word for masks that were used in Classical Roman and Greek theatre. In a persona poem the writer dons a mask and writes from the personas point of view. In this workshop writers will create personas to become the first-person speakers of their poems. Persona poems aim to expose and examine the emotional, physical and psychological aspects of the personas state of being. The session is helpful across genres for writers interested in voice, character building, and understanding the art and tradition of personal poetry.
